Finally, someone mentioned Sawmill Curve! For those of us who know the area, Mott is almost a mile "east" and the CHP truck inspection is much closer to Big Canyon, which is about the same distance "east" of Mott. Big Canyon was once a large trestle, but the track was moved a bit uphill and put on a fill way 'back when" (1920s??) You can still see the footings. I say "east" because that's the RR's designation, physically they are north. I think I was standing next to Drew, or a few feet south of him when the picture was taken!
