When I looked at the date stamp on this slide, I was somewhat surprised the see 1999---it just doesn't seem like ACE has been around that long and that it was almost ten years since the old SP roundhouse was damaged by the 1989 earthquake.

A June afternoon in 1999 as ACE #3103 heads for the SP Cahill St. Station in San Jose where it will pick-up passengers, the reverse and head out cab car first for Stockton.

The locomotive and cars obviously still exist, but everything else is gone, replaced by Cal Train's maintainence facility---and the way they are going, that will soon resemble the abandoned SP roundhouse.
