A story? Not really. As I recall (which, after 40 years is fuzzy at best) there was some kind of walkway on the East side of the track. That said, there was not a hell of a lot of activity in that yard. As far as risk, just taking that trip was a major health risk as I was recovering from a severe case of hepatitas and my doc warned me not to go as a relapse could be fatal.

As far as being on railroad property, none of the MILW people seemed to care.
