Another possible answer:

That the American lumber industry in general, is at last now dead; which for all practical purposes, it is. The result of now inoperative lumber sources in the United States, would then be the concentration of the market in the few places it still operates, such as along the Canadian border.

With that would come a concentration of rail lumber traffic; which we may be seeing there, but in few other places. As small as it is (30cars here - 10 there . . . . . ), it is not really a hopeful sign in and of itself; besides being way overshadowed anyway, with all the layoff reports still being heard in the Northern California media.

But we can keep looking . . . . . for rational hope!
