Up here in the Great Grey North(west),it is SOP to wait 48 hours after a slide is cleaned up, before passenger trains will resume running through the affected area. Sounder commuter train service between Everett & Seattle has been the victim most often this winter, along with the Vancouver, B.C. Cascades & turning Amtrak trains # 7 & 8 @ Everett,WA., due to slides in the Mukilteo & Woodway areas. I don't know if the 48 hour delay is a new FRA rule, or a BNSF rule.
