The Clarify Coleman,
the FRC CANYON DETOURED Amtrak Train 5 OPERATED on WEDS 3-23-11.
Yesterday's Train 5 was about the FINAL train over DONNER pass
prior to the storm CLOSURE of the railroad in the Emigrant Gap area.
That closeure was due to an AVALANCHE near Emigrant Gap.
Amtrak Train 6 (24TH) was held at COLFAX while snow removal was attempted.
It was during this Amtrak 6 COLFAX hold time that news broke of the Donner avalanche.
Trains 5 and 6 were combined at COLFAX and returned to Oakland last night.

I have been following the DONNER PASS and FRC Canyon news
extensively over the past few days.
