Today, I drove up the hill.

The snow had melted at Colfax, where 602's spreader set was still parked at around 1100.

A couple of feet of snow were on the track at Emigrant Gap, so I kept going uphill and, at Soda Springs, found the rotaries, stopped just east of the grade crossing with the crew having gone dead on the law. A flanger set led by 604 was just west of the crossing and a crewman from it said that the crews would be rested again about 1800 Sunday evening. With that, I headed down the mountain after getting a few photos. I was at Soda Springs about 1300.
