In the late 1980's, my wife and I started sort of a family tradition of going to Truckee or Reno for Thanksgiving, hence, I have a large number of photos from those time periods. Actually, it wasn't so much of tradition than a way to escape my mother-in-law's cooking. I came to the conclusion that she did not beieve the turkey was dead and tried to kill it again.

Anyway, this was shot on Thanksgiving morning, 1991 as #8510 was about to head East from Truckee. If memoery serves, they had cut away a rear end helper.
