I've been trying to comply a list of all the things that are gone or are disappearing quickly now off the railroad property since I started activly railfanning. I am a child of Amtrak, having missed the great passenger trains by ten years. I'm 53 and stuck at . Tower's, Semaphore signals,(search lights are going), train order signals, train orders(flimsies), telegraph comunication, telegraph poles(are going, with all those nice insulators), signal boxes(lotsa rivits and a bell capped cover), real bells on crossing signals, telephone boxes, the double speaker on a pole in yards, switch stand lamps, active wreck trains, (wood railroad ties(could still be around a long time)), date nails, railroad hotels and or a boarding house, jointed rail, roof walks. So currently I'm stuck at 19. I've never seen an active roundhouse or coaling tower..... Any help?
