Just so you know... that GP38 is NOT pushing the 18 up the hill. The 18 is DRAGGING the Geep up the hill. The Geep is there to assist IF needed, since the steam engine is new to the line, and will be left there until Mt Hood RR decides to remove it. I rode the train Wednesday, and, from what I saw, and according to the Mt Hood crew, the diesel did not supply any power.

The engine does work hard getting that train up the hill, and sounds way cool.

The whistle is an N&W Hooter.

As far as still needing work, these things ALWAYS need work, which is why the railroads got rid of them. Every time we take the Daylight out, we work on it. That's part of steam railroading.

I say give credit where credit is due... And some people need to get over themselves.
