Here are some preservation shots taken around the LA area recently. Interestingly, only one of these locomotives is stuffed and mounted. The rest are still going strong.
1) The Orange Empire's sprightly looking RSD12, numbered 1956 in honor of the museum's founding. She still sounds like an Alco should (sort of like a dishwasher when one spoon came out of the basket and is knocking around against everything).

2) Next is the Rio Grande locomotive at Knott's... Man is this a well-maintained locomotive.

4) This is the Galloping Goose they use on slow weekdays.

5) And finally, the grandest of them all, the Royal Hudson that hides at the Nethercott Collection in Sylmar, CA.
