Monorail fans only... Newark AirTrain (Vegas preview?)
Another virtual East Coast vista from me, this time from beautiful, Newark, NJ!
Home to Rutgers University, the past lives of many railroad fallen flags and one of the largest airports on the East Coast (10th, nationally), Newark also is home to the AirTrain Monorail. Initially built only as an airport circulator between airport terminals, the system was later extended outside the airport, over busy US-1 and over to Amtrak's NEC to a station which can only be accessed by rail, and the monorail itself.
What a superb example for Vegas to follow - though from the strip to the airport and it's parking. Alas, I suppose that would put a lot of taxi drivers out of work and maybe a few gas stations as well.
Anyway - it works very well in NJ - enjoy the pics!
All at night, including, of course, the pan
!
Trains, planes and automobiles - captures at speed at night!
A low level flyby - a pan captured at a shutter speed of less then 1/2 second!
The station itself, featuring the Acela (daytime).
