Capitalism makes the world go around. I believe you can blame the NIMBY's, Greenies and our US anti-business policies for log exports and other natural resource development issues. NIMBY's don't want to live next to stinky, dusty and loud lumber and paper mills and don't like railroad and truck traffic. The Greenies simply want human activity to cease so the earth can exist in a state of eutopia. US business policy (including all of the insanity in regards to taxation, environmental protection, global warming, permits and regulation) results in businessmen and stockholders making decisions to best cope with the "business road blocks" and maximize return on investment. Look at your personal lives, are you going to intentionally invest in something that causes you to deplete your savings, lose your house and end up living in a cardboard box under a bridge and leave you begging for food and clothing? So why should businessmen and stockholders be expected to? I dislike seeing shuttered and dismantled mills, inactive and abandoned railroads and piles of export logs stacked and loaded onto overseas bound ships, but that's the business climate that our country has evolved into because of the nonsense. Quit your @#$%&, stand up and become vocal about returning America to a prosperous kick ass country! -Steve Tucker-
