While the SP 1474 was indeed sold to the Univ of Michigan, prior to going to the Orange Empire Railway Museum, it was used on the trackage at the USMC @ Yermo, Ca. for testing Radar equipment. For the Univ of Micigan.

It ran back and forth during the testing, in the area where the unloading ramps are now.
