Without squinting, your picture takes me back just a year or two before 1997, when Susquehanna's SD70Ms were the big new thing, and several of their SD45s were still in service, and I was still living in New Jersey. (At that point, SP power of any kind was a distant memory from my days of growing up in California, or from annual spring trips to Arizona.) Upon closer look, those tunnel motor openings shatter the illusion of being flared '45s. One thing this picture proves: that NYS&W paint scheme could be hung on just about ANY locomotive and be a perfect fit. Kinda like BNSF's Heritage I.
