Yeah like a bunch of crack fiends worried they won't be able to score any more rock. They purchase equipment that costs tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars then let it sit outdoors unused. Instead of building upon a brand image (Phase 3 paint and Superliners), they change their image to one no one likes or can identify with. Amtrak is more worried about micromanaging their employees and pleasing whatever government agencies/customers (CCJPA/Caltrans for example) they deal with than producing a solid, reliable, and attractive product for riders.
