This reminds me of scenes on a videotape I have of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway that brushes by streetside markets in much the same way. Vendors have to keep their eyes out for kids hanging off the sides of the cars (carriages, saloons) who try to reach out and swipe produce from the stands as the train passes by.
