Amtrak MP21B Genset - handbrake observation

Nice picture, Charles.

Looking at that handbrake, I certainly hope that it works by just pressing a button. It looks like it would be quite awkward to work the jack handle at that location. Where would you stand - on the step?

I guess that when you have to do these things, you look at pictures a bit differently. I have two that I get to jack regularly; one on the back end of a GP7 and the other on the front end of an ex D&RGW Tunnel Motor. Both have adequate platform space to stand safely and jack the handbrake handle. The Tunnel Motor has a front platform big enough to setup a card table with 4 chairs!
