CN CISCO BRIDGE FIRE

A tie fire on the CN Cisco Bridge west of Lytton has suspended directional running between Mission and Basque BC. The fire was reported at 2pm yesterday June 30th with the Lytton BC fire department and BC Forest Service responding. One of the photos I saw showed a helicopter dropping buckets of water on the bridge.

There is a 2 1/2% connecting track to the CP mainline, just east of the CN bridge. All eastbound traffic runs on the Canadian Pacific between Mission and Basque BC, while all westbound traffic runs on the CN between those two connections. Westbound traffic could be run down the CP to the connection just west of the Cisco bridge and back onto the CN main temporarily. It is about 44 miles between Basque and Cisco and there are 5 sidings with Thompson being the shortest at 7155 feet.
