From Trainfoamers this AM:

Today (7 Aug),I spent 30 minutes with Chard in ICU. He says he's starting to feel a "bit better every day" and that he's starting to eat more. He's still obviously weak and has a deep hacking cough---but the cough is "less every day".
He's sends HELLO's and many thanks for the cards, calls, e-mails and prayers.
As I was leaving he said---"Have a good lunch Friday at Mollie's (cafe in Hesperia, CA) and tell them I'll be back there shortly"
So, things are starting to look up
