Novato Council approved the amendment at about 10:10 PM, July 12, California time. Vote was 3-2 in favor. A few amendments were made to assure welded track, no more than 30 days without a Tier 3 locomotive and something else.
It was apparent that some Novato Council people do not support resumption of freight, and one Councilperson referred to the 'arrogance' of the railroad in not considering the needs of Novato's residents. They didn't see any benefit to Novato residents from the resumption of freight service.
