Not to wipe away too much foam here...........but wouldn't NCRA's operator be more appropriately named Petaluma & Haystack or Petaluma & Santa Rosa or North Shore Railroad to reflect the service area? Maybe the historic SF & NP would be appropriate if service ever reaches Ukiah or Willits again. Like the WP there's a lot of pride in the NWP name and 75 years of service, but it's unlikely the line will return to the economic sphere envisioned by the SP and Santa Fe. Pride and simplicity win out.
