Neat stuff! I've always found the 'support' hardware and infrastructure just as interesting and important as any train.

Keep going...and make a stop at Klinefelter. It has a freshwater spring right against the right-of-way that weeps all year long; even if it is 114 degrees. Look for the guy selling beef jerky and honey. It will be near his spot along the road, then head for the tracks and look for the reeds growing next to the tracks. Soak your feet!
