Thank you all for the information and photos. Now I understand that the 1936 station had elevated tracks behind it which have been replaced by the elevated Interstate 690 freeway structure. Previously, there had been separate passenger and freight tracks through Syracuse. Now the passenger route tracks through downtown are gone and passenger trains use the freight route where the new intermodal station has been built north of the downtown area.
