July 1992, an election year. George H.W. Bush was going to try and hang onto the presidency for a second term but some obscure governor from Arkansas named Clinton had other plans. That same year, the NRHS Convention was held in San Jose which was attended by UP Challenger #3985. In July, the locomotive headed East back to Cheyenne as is seen passing thru Golconda, NV.
