Is this guy a protege of Gene S. (recently retired after recreating the Capitol Corridor service and making it actually relevant in the Sac-SJ service)? Sounds like it.

More GM's should ride the trains and actually talk with the customers (that's what they are, really; not mushrooms as Amtrak and many transit systems treat them).
