There was a shakeup at OERM. I'm not familiar with the names there, but in addition to a VP dismissal and some resignations, part of it is due to growing pains. Reports are OERM is going to ask members to vote on changing its bylaws to add term limits and restrict serving board members from holding other management positions, and then elect a new board. The existing management structure will be reworked to integrate the paid executive director, who was hired a while back. Otehr than the ED, some office.gift shop staff and a caretaker, they are still dependent upon volunteers (and the egos and drama associated with any large group)
I would give the OERM Board the benefit of the doubt here. This is one of the older, larger and mature railroad museums in the US. The Board normally limits itself to dealing with policy, budget and general oversight, with day-to-day details handled by appointed VPs. I would imagine that it was pretty serious for anyone to be removed from a position, but I'm not sure anyone was forced out of the museum itself.
