Not surprised to see Amtrak lose out again. Wonder if new insane insurance requirements ( like MBTA imposed ) factored into Amtrak's bid ??? Hope TransitAmerica knows just what they are getting involved with.
Wasn't the original idea behind BART, one of a mass transit system that did " Ring The Bay " ??? My understanding was this idea went to pot when several bay area counties ( Sam Mateo & Santa Clara ) decided not to join BART. This was in the early 1970's ???
