Warren Wing Death Notice

Warren Wing's family put his death notice in the Seattle Times yesterday (September 16). I only saw it in the print edition--could not find it online, presumably because it is not an obituary article, just a paid notice. So I will transcribe it here:

Salem OR--Warren Wallace Wing, 93, a World War II veteran and longtime resident of Seattle, passed away peacefully with his family at his side after a short bout with pneumonia on August 31, 3011.

Dad was born on August 20, 1918 in Seattle WA. He retired from the US Postal Service in 1973, after 30 plus years of service. Dad loved trains and ferries. They were his lifelong hobbies. He wrote 5 books about trains, and also enjoyed printing photos in his basement darkroom to sell at train swap meets. He was a charter member of the Northwest Rail Fan Club, and enjoyed his friends there for many years.

Dad is survived by his son, Dana (and wife Kathleen), daughter Gail Wing, grandson Andy Wing (and wife Colleen), granddaughter Rachel Wing, and his brother Daniel Lynch (and wife Virgie). He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Pat, and his son Mike.

Dad will be loved and missed all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
