Court Hammond is a conman, and is only in it for the money and to strip the railroad like he is doing/did to the Yreka Western. Too bad the counties that own the Wallowa Union are too stupid to recognize this. Court likes to step over a dollar to pick up a dime, and frequently ends up oweing more than what he began with. He has creditors knocking at his door at the YW, and wasn't the YW going up for auction because of defaulted loans? That tells me he has no money, so how is he going to run the Wallowa Union? And in the time between 2006 and 2008 when YW's Bluegoose was still operating, how many people knew it was running? There were people in Yreka who didn't even know it was running, because Court didn't advertise, so nobody rode the train. And if I remember correctly Court was the operator of the line through Towner, CO, and the counties that owned that line took it back from him within a couple years. Shouldn't all this be bad signs as to why Court shouldn't operate the Wallowa Union or any railroad for that matter?
