I imagine airplane travel is going to have to become a lot more unpleasant and/or incovenient before overnight train travel comes back. I think in Europe business travelers still patronize overnight trains though.

Ah, the good old days. When going on a business trip meant getting away from the office, the daily routine, maybe the wife and kids. A little "me time," visiting a favorite out-of-town watering hole, doing a meet-and-greet with customers that you actually enjoyed doing business with.

Business trips nowadays means taking your office with you (smart phone, lap top), flying (ugh) or driving, and people expecting you to get all your usual work done, plus whatever it is you're out on the road to accomplish.

Like I said, it used to be fun. Here I am talking about the good old days, and I'm not even that old.
