I feel compelled to make the observation that UPS's success came at the expense of the Post Office (not the semi-privatized "Postal Service",) and the now extinct Railway Express Agency.
A triumph of our "free enterprise" system, or a failure of agencies entrusted with common carrier respomsiblities?
