Obviously, a coincidence that Henry J. Kaiser was married to the sister of Harold Ickes, FDR's Secretary of the Interior, that most of the cement for Shasta Dam would roll out over these rails. Fifty years later, four SP GP9's and on GP38 were working the throat of the Permanente yard. The first two units, #3191 and #3192, had been relieved of their commute duties the previos summer.
