There is nothing in the cop or security guard's job description that forces them to mock or humiliate. If they chose that tack to try and embarrass me out of railfanning again, I will show disrepect for them. If they blatantly lie to me (train photography is illegal now), I will call them on their lie.

Otherwise, I will be extremely respectful, and I have thanked many a cop over the years after being asked what I was doing railfanning.

I'm afraid it has nothing to do with the tomato paste. Stopping me to ask me what I am doing, even if I'm shooting a rock train, is absolutely 100% fine. Telling me to find another hobby is not.
