PV "Santa Rosa" on the move

The former Southern Pacific business car "Santa Rosa", recently purchased by the Oregon Pacific, has departed the Niles Canyon Ry. storage site enroute to its new home on the OPR at East Portland.

It was picked up Saturday morning by the UP Permanente Local, and in true "mixed train" tradition, became the "caboose" for the trip to Milpitas where it is being guarded by the OPR prior to its Monday departure on the MMIRO and eventually the MROHK to Portland where it will be set out at Brooklyn for delivery to the OPR. A good chance it will be on the rear of both trains running with the platform to the rear.
