I can relate. I didn't want to admit it either; however my last DMV exam made glasses official, at least for driving. It's either that, or buy a prescription windshield for everything I drive !!!
I'm also thinking that the old 8 MM film cameras were not too sharp to begin with, especially when filming from a moving train with all the vibrations. LOVE the footage in the old Tacoma waterfront area. Kudos to you for showing your dad's movies to us.
