The original narrow gauge line was in excess of 6% in places. Conversion to standard gauge and a realignment brought the grades to 4% on the east side and 2.5% on the west. The track in Park city was removed in 1946.

This according to DRGW.net. Utahrails.net is another good source of Rio Grande and related info.
