I just saw in the Chewelah Paper that Boise Cascade is planning to buy Stimson's shuttered Arden Sawmill. Boise Cascade says this mill won't take away from any work being done at their other mills like Kettle Falls, but will focus on small logs. They say that they intend to saw the timber in Arden, but ship it to Kettle Falls to be kiln dried. I wonder how they'll ship it? They say that by keeping the kilns going full time in Kettle will more then offset the transport cost. Regardless, hopefully this results in some traffic for the KFR, even if its just the finished product coming out of Kettle Falls.
