Very nice! I've never made the full NEC trip - need to do it some time. My trips have been pretty much local to DC and the NY area.

There's something to be said for a near-commuter train (AEM7 and some well-used but clean Amfleets) getting from BWI to DC in about 25 minutes (about 40 miles) every 20 minutes-1/2 hour even into the wee hours and nobody thinking it's anything special. Or running into and around "The City" for the day without much thought or preparation on the LIRR and the subways. It's just assumed that a Big City will have service like that. We don't see much of that out West; it's a different universe.

BTW, do they ever have to open the draw span on that bridge? If so, it must throw a few schedules into the bin.
