After reading the posts about the protests, shut downs, and track being torn up, here is a little good news. This afternoon, Friday, I happened to catch the Coos Bay Rail Link train leaving Eugene Yard, headed back towards the coast. The two SWs are still being used. I counted 15 empty lumber cars, and, to my surprise, 14 loads of wood chips. Last week I saw that the incoming loads to the yard have increased by 50% from when the line was re-opened, from 12 to 18. So far so good! Didn't see any protesting, either.
