"Self evident"? Really?

First of all, the Onion.com site is not even in the top 500 most popular sites in the US. Or 600. Or 700. Its number 786 according to Alexa:
[www.alexa.com]

Second, the relative popularity (or lack of) of the Onion does not necessarily mean that all viewers of that site understand the content is satire. Perhaps they confuse it with sites that purport to report "actual" news!

And Mr. Swanson's comments almost certainly had an element of "tongue in cheek", in my opinion! Isn't that a form of satire itself?
