I started posting train videos on youtube back in 2006, and once I started collection locomotive horns I also started posting horn videos as well. I still post a mix of both, my YT profile name is mafarnz. I don't really consider my videos to be artistic or (with a few exceptions) that unique or rare, but so far I have managed to gather 469 subscribers, so I must be doing something right. I think major networks have always had this idea of "we know what people want to watch and will not deviate from that" for a long time, and just didn't realize that there are a lot of niche markets that have a surprisingly large audience.
