I have the GN Lines East Book and I feel it is an excellent reference. It has lots of good information on GN steam and diesel locomotives, freight and passenger cars and passenger services.

If you are seeking a book with a lot of spectacular photographs, then you will want to look elsewhere. However, much (most?) of the Lines East territory was not very scenic in the way that the Rockies and Sierras make the train photos in White River Productions spectacular.

However, the Lines East books is profusely illustrated with black-and-white photos and a few color photographs. I would recommend it to any GN fan and modeler.
