The addition of anti climbers to recently rebuilt locomotives is quite apparent on the GMD1's that CN rebuilt into the 1400 class. They simply wrapped a piece of 7-inch channel around the crossover step extension of the deck plate and then welded a piece of 3-inch channel inside that. Angled braces from the under frame are designed to absorb the impact.
