I'd say what's next depends on what high speed rail displaces. At the federal level the word I've seen is that they are now looking towards "taking" existing rail lines to reduce start up costs. Nothing stated about where freight traffic and customers will go. Wait, industry isn't wanted in California anyway so maybe it will ba a wash.
