Quoting the artical: "I think he was... tired of hurting, and hurting other people and disappointing other people,"
---------

Trying to put a "rational" reason behind a suicide, such as this; IS pure whitewash. Understandable coming from a family member, but nonetheless, far from reality. Suicide is the result of depression, a disease that can corrupt ones thoughts to the point of irrational inexplicanle behavior; such as curing the hurting of himself and other people; by hurting himself and other people even more! And yes, drug and alcohol USE serious excaserbates depression - even causes it in otherwise healthy people.

Family members would be better served by not even trying to explain the inexplicable. Ultimately, reality must be accepted - with or without understanding. Real understanding is unlikely anyhow.

As to not making judgements, I am sick and tired of such sanctimonious drivel. There is nothing to judge here - it is a done deal. The man is dead, his family is hurting, the lives of others he involved are permanent warped. And yes, INFLICTED PAIN LEADS TO ANGER. These are FACTS, not judgement! It is not being judgemental to point those facts out on a forum - or anywhere else.

What IS judgemental, is putting someone down for expressing anger, over what are obviously hidden hurts within. Indeed, the handle "Sick and Tired" and the angry wish, proves that. The anger is real, as is the pain that caused it. It is useless to make judement against that. Worse yet, suppressing and hiding anger away, often leads to the very same depression that caused this tragedy in the first place - and then the beat goes on.

What would help reduce the incidence of "suicide by train", would be for the DAMN media to stop sensationalizing it. This would reduce the chance that it would even come to the mind of a depressed person - might even save their life if no one mentioned the idea at all.

It has been shown consistantly over the years: that the bigger the noise in the media about it, the more copy-catters you get. Whereas, transit agencies that have "blacked out" media coverage of suicides, have quickly experienced a sharp decline in the suicide rate. It would be smart public policy to follow suit.

Given that some here have made judgements they themselves decry - labelling some as trolls, I will not not use my regular moniker, but will sign off as:
