Bombardier could always buy the plant. Their airline business is on a steep downslope - they've discontinued a number of models, their flagship turboprop aircraft is not exactly getting rave reviews compared to the competition, and the regional jet is like a four-letter word; supposedly passenger rail is a flourishing business in the United States.
