Thanks ever so muchly, Glen. I will be in Wales within the next 2 months, and plan to ride this treasure... hopefully from one end to the other. Interesting note, the Welsh Highland Railway (which is now connected to and operated by the Ffestiniog) also has 4 NCG16 Beyer-Garratt locomotives, as well as the very first B-G ever built, the K-1 (restored with a bunch of K-2's parts.

I'd be very interested in suggested places to stay a night or two near the railway (either end, or at Porthmadog).
