Since I have nothing better to post today, how about UP's "State of the Busines" for the week beginning March 5th:
State of the Business

"State of the Business" is a weekly update of Union Pacific's network. It provides an overview of the railroad's current status, outlook drivers and new business.
Current Status
The seven-day carloading rate is around 170,000, which is 3 percent below the same week last year.
The seven-day carloading rate is up week-over-week, with gains in Intermodal, Chemicals and Industrial Products more than offsetting lower Energy shipments.
About 690 TE&Y employees are furloughed; 31,000 freight cars are in storage; and 920 locomotives are in short- and long-term storage.
Velocity is flat week-over-week around 21 mph.
The Service Delivery Index (SDI) is up one point to 81. SDI combines the key quality-of-service indicators for each business segment.
Compared to March 2011, slow order miles are 11 percent better and slow order delays are 19 percent better.
