Well, having been on the Roslagsbanan, there are a lots of uncontrolled farm crossings out in the farmland east of Stockholm. How the truck got stuck is another matter.

Sweden has a nifty system in use at their signalized crossings where by use of inductive loops in the roadbed, signal a train about half a mile away using a triangular array of yellow lights. These lights are normally flashing all the time. When a train approaches and the gates or lights have been activated, the system checks with those loops to determine of there is a vehicle that would foul the crossing. If no vehicle is detected, the flashing lights go solid indicating that the crossing is functioning correctly and there are no vehicles present in the ROW. These "Dead Skull" lights (not my name, SJ drivers slang) can be seen at Video: "Dead Skull" Light The freight train is still on the crossing as the locomotive passes the Dead Skull lights, then as the tail clears the crossing and the gates go up the lights return to the flashing state.

This system is supplemented with one more set of signals at the crossing itself that point down both directions of the ROW. Red normally for the crossing open of vehicular traffic or a malfunctioning system, white to show clear to proceed.
